Medical Weight Loss in Wentzville, MO
If you've counted calories, tried the apps and put in the workouts and the scale still hasn't moved much, you're not alone. Summit's Wentzville office offers a medically supervised weight loss program for adults in western St. Charles County. It combines lab work, provider oversight, prescription options when appropriate and hands-on coaching.
Bloodwork is part of the program
Hormones and metabolism both play a part in how your body handles weight, so the program includes comprehensive bloodwork analysis and ongoing medical supervision. Your panel is drawn at a LabCorp location near you and includes A1c, a comprehensive metabolic panel, lipids, thyroid markers (TSH and T4), vitamin D and a CBC, along with the hormone markers in Summit's standard panel. A licensed provider reviews the results with you, together with your health history, current medications and goals.
What the program can include
-
Provider supervision. A licensed provider decides whether a prescription medication is appropriate for you and oversees your care from the first visit on.
-
Prescription options, including GLP-1 medications, when appropriate. Your provider discusses specific options with you after reviewing your labs and history.
-
Coaching through our 1st Phorm partnership. Summit partners with 1st Phorm to pair you with a weight loss coach and trainer, plus full access to the 1st Phorm App for nutrition guidance, workouts and accountability.
-
Regular check-ins. Your provider tracks how you're doing, watches for side effects and adjusts your plan. Check-ins can happen in the office or by telehealth. A typical check-in covers how you're feeling, any side effects, how nutrition and training are going, and whether your plan needs to change.
Is it right for you?
Not every medication is right for every person. Before recommending anything, your provider reviews your full medical history, current medications and supplements, because some prescription weight loss medications aren't appropriate for people with certain conditions. If medication isn't a fit, your provider will talk through other parts of the program. The medical weight loss page explains the benefits and risks of GLP-1 medications in more detail.
